Two sides of Beyonce -
bellow are the images that I am going to use in the booklet that wil showcase the two sides of beyonce.
The two sides the one side that encoureges the male gaze and the other side where she depicts herself as a powerful independant lady. By separating these two sides out it will highlight and make comment on the contrast and conflict in her two images. The images I have chosen to use all encourage the male gaze according to laura Mulvey.

I have also broken down the two images of Beyonce by looking at her conflicting words, one minute she is all for women power, the next she is saying she can't live without a man in her life. These conflicting statements make an interesting reading, image is one thing but it can be controlled maybe by a stylist, but words, they come from us so it is interesting to see what Beyonce has said.
